The plan of forcing subsidized housing of minorities in predominately white neighborhoods goes back to the 1980s in the City of Yonkers, NY where a federal judge accused the city of deliberate segregation and forced the citizens of East Yonkers to accept subsidized housing in their neighborhoods. The case, United States vs. Yonkers, tore a community apart and almost bankrupted the city.
