Hillary Clinton began a media blitz this week for her new book where she revealed that her and Bill Clinton were “broke” when they left the White House in 2001. The absurd gaffe did not stop a fawning media from fueling speculation about a possible run for the White House in 2016. As far as the national media goes, she’s doing it and will be invincible. However, there are some clues suggesting she may not. The same slap happy strategists who criticized Sarah Palin for book touring and playing coy with supporters and the media see no problem with Clinton doing the exact same thing. As I predicted, the ruling class and Beltway elite have a new mantra for 2016: after 8 years of the failed presidency of Obama, we must now go with “safe choices” like Clinton or Bush. Why name recognition is important in presidential politics. Clinton and Bush have it. And so does Sarah Palin.
